Dr Kara Crossley (BSc Hons. PhD. DClinPsy.)
Dr Kara Crossley is a qualified Clinical Psychologist. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP). Kara has trained and worked for the NHS for the past 6 years.
Kara has worked with a diverse client group, presenting with a wide range of psychological needs including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and phobias. She has predominantly trained in CBT and systemic approaches, but incorporates third wave therapies such as ACT into her work. She is able to tailor therapy to suit the needs clients. Kara works collaboratively with clients to increase self-awareness and their understanding of their difficulties.
Kara currently works as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for people with acquired brain injuries (e.g. stroke, TBI) and progressive neurological conditions (e.g. MS, Parkinson’s). She has extensive experience in working within a clinical neuropsychology setting; supporting individuals and their carers around understanding neuropsychological conditions and their neuro-rehabilitation needs including; vocational rehabilitation, administering neuropsychological assessments and with supporting people with acceptance and adjustment following their brain injury. Kara is passionate about empowering people to recognise and achieve their potential.
Kara is an approachable, empathetic practitioner who is able to work holistically to consider all aspects of a person’s wellbeing. She aims to provide a safe place for clients to explore, process, and manage their difficulties.
